Weekend Race Preview (Las Vegas)
The Craftsman Truck Series has a weekend off as they get ready for Atlanta next week. There is still plenty of great racing to watch this weekend, though, with both the Nationwide Series and the Sprint Cup Series Cars in Sin City at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway. Hopefully, the weather will be better this weekend than it was last weekend in California for the NASCAR drivers, and we’ll get in a couple of good races on schedule.
Check out who to watch and what to expect this weekend in Las Vegas by reading more after the jump.

Sprint Cup UAW-Dodge 400
Airs Sunday March 2, 2008 at 3:30 PM ET on FOX.
Can anyone stop Jimmie Johnson? It’s the question I kept asking all of last season, and it rears its ugly head once again as we talk about what to expect at Las Vegas this weekend. Jimmie and the #48 Lowe’s Chevy Hendrick Motorsports team just seems to have this track all figured out. Johnson has won the last three races at the track, and is looking strong and the favorite to win his fourth in a row. Matt Kenseth also has back to back wins in the recent past, and he and the Roush Fenway cars looked great at California last week. The Dodges looked great at Daytona, and the Gibbs Racing Toyotas are always contenders. It should be a good race.
Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300
Airs Saturday March 1, 2008 at 4:00 PM ET on ESPN2.
If last year’s Las Vegas Busch Series (now called the Nationwide Series) race was any indication, this race will be a barn burner. Hometown boy Kyle Busch looked like he was going to win until he spun out on the front stretch on the last lap, allowing veteran Jeff Burton to pass him and take the checkered flag. The Busch brothers may be natives of Las Vegas, but they struggle at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway. You can never count them out, though, and Kyle should be strong (Kurt is not in the Nationwide Race this weekend). Let’s not forget Tony Stewart, either, considering he’s coming off back to back Nationwide Series wins so far this season. It will hopefully be a great and clean race.
