Nextel Cup Dickies 500
Airs Sunday November 4, 2007 at 3:00 PM ET on ABC.
Finally, we get to a track that Hendrick Motorsports has not historically dominated. In fact, no one has really dominated at Texas, with different winners for all races in the last 5 years. This is one of the very few tracks that current points leader Jeff Gordon has not won at. With his current lead in the standings being only a few points, we may see a new leader at the end of the weekend. To be honest, I’m ready for someone new to win a race, and Texas may just be the place to get that done.
Busch Series O’Reilly Challenge
Airs Saturday November 3, 2007 at 3:00 PM ET on ESPN2.
While the Busch Series has seen a bit more in the repeat winners department than the Nextel Cup, it’s still a toss up as to who will finish first this weekend. Traditionally, both Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick tend to do very well at Texas, but Carl Edwards is anxious to cement his championship and will be looking to do so at this weekend. Whether or not he will clinch this weekend will be something to watch for.
Craftsman Truck Silverado 350K
Airs Friday November 2, 2007 at 8:30 PM ET on SPEED.
Mike Skinner seems to just own the Bud Pole award for Texas, and this weekend’s race is no different. Even though Skinner starts so often on the pole, it is Todd Bodine that makes the most appearances in victory lane. The championship points standings are still ridiculously close between Mike Skinner and Ron Hornaday, and both drivers will roll off in the top ten. Watch as they battle it out for the lead as we near the end of the season.
