Kevin Harvick Teleconference from California

Friday, February 1st, 2008

harvick.jpgTesting, testing, 1 - 2 - 29! The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers have moved along from Las Vegas to testing now at California Motorspeedway. The Preseason Thunder has been heating up for the driver of the #29 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing, Kevin Harvick. In the fun and the sun of California, Harvick took some time away from the track to talk with the NASCAR media about his team’s outlook for 2008.

Happy Harvick answered questions about the Car of Tomorrow (including what it should be called now that tomorrow is actually here) and tires from testing in Daytona, Las Vegas, and California. He also talked about his Daytona 500 win last season and how he could repeat it in just a few short weeks. There was also a question about Kevin’s thoughts on Hendrick Motorsports domination, and Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson in particular.

It looks from the teleconference that Richard Childress Racing has been working hard over the off season to make some strides and close the gap with the Hendrick teams. Don’t take my word for it, though! Check out a transcript of the teleconference after the jump.

NASCAR Feuds (Harvick vs. Montoya)

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Sorry about the past couple of days with no posts, but it looks like our technical difficulties have been cleared up now, so let’s get back to NASCAR!

Today, let’s take a look back at the Watkins Glen race from 2007 and the shoving match that ensued. Martin Truex Jr. gets into Juan Pablo Montoya who then collects Kevin Harvick as he spun. Hot headed Harvick didn’t like being taken out of the race and goes to “talk” to Montoya about it. Much yelling, helmet grabbing, and pushing happens. Enjoy the clip:

Kevin Harvick and Tony Raines Visit Boys and Girls Club

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

“With more than 4,000 locations all over the country, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America have been a great organization for kids,” Harvick said. “It is an honor to be teamed up with RoadLoans to present the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware with a check for $7,505.”

Last weekend, NASCAR drivers Kevin Harvick and Tony Raines visited the Boys and Girls Club of greater Newark in Delaware to deliver a $7505 check for the worthy organization courtesy of RoadLoans.com. The money was raised in an online auction for an Ultimate Fan Experience package for the past weekend in Dover, which included premium seats for both the Busch Series and Nextel Cup races. Other items included autographed uniforms from Kevin Harvick, pit passes, and Victory Lane access after the Busch race.

Not only did the drivers present the check to the organization, they also interacted with hundreds of kids signing autographs and taking pictures, as well as a “Q&A” session. Part of the NASCAR Foundation, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America have benefited across the country from NASCAR and its drivers raising money and making appearances. It’s always good to see the stars giving back to those in need.

To see a few more pictures of the event, keep reading after the jump.
