2008 Budweiser Shootout Results
Well, what do you know? The crown prince of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. managed to pull out the very first win of the season in his new Hendrick Motorsports ride. Thanks to a nice push from new teammate Jimmie Johnson, Jr. was able to pass friend and rival Tony Stewart and then kept him in the rear view mirror for the last couple laps. The stands went wild with excitement over the win, and it seemed to prove Jr. didn’t lose any fans with his big team change, and may have even picked up some more. It was a great race by everyone and a fun one to watch. It just got me ready for the entire 2008 season. Bring on Daytona 500 qualifying!
